Brain Injury Awareness WOD

More than 5.3 million individuals in the U.S. are living with a permanent brain injury-related disability. The lasting effects can be so severe they can impact a person’s mood, personality, career and ability to function independently.

One of our very own members, Kaitlin Legg, experienced a freak accident during a workout in April 2023. The result was multiple skull fractures, brain and facial nerve damage, organ damage, hearing loss, vision impairment, and more. The full extent of the long-term impact related to their injuries is still not known.

Most recently, Kaitlin is experiencing mysterious chronic and new/emerging symptoms related to the injury and bills from primary care, specialists, and physical/occupational therapy are adding up.

The NOVA community is dedicating the workouts on Saturday, March 23 to Kaitlin and encourage donations of any amount to fund their ongoing medical expenses.

Join us at Perinton Center Park Amphitheater for the Hero WOD Chad. We will be pairing up with our friends at Great Wolf CrossFit to recognize all who have served. This workout is open to the community.

We'll take on 1000 step ups in honor of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson. As always, the workout is scalable:

We will be cleaning up the Outreach Center at ROCovery Fitness.

ROCovery Fitness is a 501c3 nonprofit and supportive community of physically active individuals brought together by their pursuit of sober living committed to creating an environment of healing and recovery.

The outreach center is open to the public. Anyone can utilize the fitness area or grab a cup of coffee and hang out in the community center or rec room.
