Tell us a little bit about you, your background, education, and accolades.
I’m a CPT under NASM and I love helping others achieve their health & fitness goals. I am the owner of my personal training business and have decided to take the leap into joining the CrossFit community. I am a hobbyist Powerlifter and also partake in hiking, snowboarding, BJJ, and lifting heavy stones. I also very much enjoy video games (Red Dead 2 is the greatest of all time).
What brought you to NOVA Fitness?
I have been apart of the BJJ side of NOVA Fitness for over a year now, and after becoming a one-on -one personal trainer my interest was sparked by attending a few CrossFit classes. I saw how much fun it was and also how much more there is to learn, and I decided to jump in!
What has been your most memorable moment at NOVA Fitness so far?
Witnessing my first open was very memorable. There was so much camaraderie amongst members and coaches and watching everyone give it their all was inspiring to say the least. NOVA is a phenomenal team.
What is one way CrossFit has positively impacted your daily life?
CrossFit encompasses all areas of fitness, not just one. As someone who likes being well-rounded with my activities (strength for lifting, stamina for grappling/BJJ/hiking), CrossFit checks all the boxes in ensuring I can use my body for anything! The community is one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. People here WANT you to succeed and WANT to be in your corner. The support and motivation is unlike what other gyms have to offer.
What advice would you give to someone new to CrossFit?
Just do it. Don't be nervous! We have a great team of coaches and members who want you to succeed and will help you along the way. Everyone started just where you are, and everyone is more than happy to cheer you on along your journey. You will make a ton of friends and will become much more capable in your fitness & health!
